Moving on again to normal maps. This is definitely not the most intuitive process I’ve encountered but it’s still really interesting and it’s making more sense of the high and low-poly logic we started way back with the wagon. Basically, (if I’m understanding this correctly), you can take a much lower resolution* object and use the normal maps to sort of project more information onto it so you don’t have a ton of information bogging down your gameplay.

*I’m pretty sure I’m not using that word right, but that’s how my layman’s brain is making the translation.
